Audible, Amazon’s streaming app for all things audio books and podcasts, is having a Prime Day deal. Now through July 31, Prime Members can get three months of Audible Premium Plus for free.
The service is usually runs $7.95 per month for Audible Plus (the basic tier plan that offers streaming access to a limited library or Audible Originals and more) and $14.95 per month for Audible Premium Plus (which offers one download per month of any audiobook, plus streaming access to Audible Originals). You can get the latter free for a three months right now. How do Audible subscriptions work?
The Audible Plus subscription gives you unlimited access to a limited number of audiobooks and podcasts in their Audible Plus Catalog, Audible Originals (think of them as Netflix Originals, but for audio books), “sleep tracks” to help you sleep, and meditation programs. You also get 30% off on additional audiobook purchases, and can access daily deals and other offers.
The higher tier, Audible Premium Plus, gives you the same perks, plus a monthly “credit” that you can use to redeem any audiobook on Audible that isn’t included in the Audible Plus Catalog, regardless of price. You can hoard your credits up to a year from their issue date, and you will keep whatever audiobook you choose even if you cancel your membership (though you’ll lose access to audiobooks from the Audible Plus Catalog).
If you find yourself wanting more credits, you can buy extra credits with the Audible Premium Plus subscription. The prices vary depending on your membership plan, and sometimes members receive special offers to purchase them at a discounted rates:
- Audible Premium Plus: two credits per month for $22.95 per month
- Audible Premium Plus Annual: 12 credits a year for $149.50 a year
- Audible Premium Plus Annual: 24 credits a year for $229.50 a year
